These are my current favorite Boys names with a 2 energy, a number all about harmony, diplomacy, mediation, relationships, and partnerships:
Brett This was originally a surname in Middle English, referring to someone who was a Breton (or hailed from Brittany, France). This became ranked in the US only in 1946 and quickly rose in popularity, peaking throughout the 70's and 80's. It remained fairly popular in the 90's, and then dropped off after 2000. In 2017, this was ranked only at #749.
Cody This is another surname-turned-first name, this time of Irish origin. This broke the top 100 in 1982, where is stayed until 2006. As of 2017, it was only ranked at #278.
Dylan This is a Welsh name, meaning "tide" or "flow". Dylan is the name of a Welsh god, associated with the sea. This ranks for both boys and girls, though is still more popular for boys, sitting comfortably in the Top 50 since 1990 and ranking at #29 in 2017.
Jared This comes from Hebrew, meaning "Descent". This has been used as an English name since the time of the Protestant Reformation. This hit the top 100 in the US in 1975 and stayed there until 2003. 15 years later, in 2017, it ranked at only #385.
Joshua Here is another name coming from Hebrew and it means "the Lord is my salvation". This is still a very popular name: it was consistently in the Top 10 from 1979 until 2009. It still remains in the top 50, coming in at #39 in 2017.
Julius This is a Roman name, related to the Roman god Jupiter. Of course, we can also think of Julius Caesar. Though just barely breaking the Top 100 in the 1880's, this name hasn't been in very popular usage throughout the past century. In 2017, it came in at #336.
Matteo This is the Italian variation of Matthew, meaning "gift". This name really only came on the scene in 1998 at #931, yet has been rising quickly. I wouldn't be surprised to see this in the top 100 in the coming years. In 2017, it ranked at #187 here in the US.
Noah Another biblical name, this means "rest" or "wandering". It has begun to be used for girls as well, though I still think of it as a boy's name. 2013-2016, this was the #1 ranked boy's name in the US, only to slide to #2 in 2017.
Roe There isn't a whole lot of information on this one, but it did sporadically rank in the Top 100 for boys in the late 1800's and early 1900's. This was also the middle name of the American football player Lacy Roe Campbell. It is currently unranked.
Shane This is an Anglicized variation of Sean, meaning "God is gracious". This is another name that can be used for a girl, as well. For boys, that ranked in the Top 100 from 1969-2004, yet it only ranked at #359 in 2017, so this is relatively rarely used for new babies nowadays.
